Sam-Dieting Again

June 16, 2008

My eating habits and diet have now brought me full circle.

Just over 2 years ago I was up to 218-220lbs and decided it was time to get serious and lose the excess.  Christi and the neighborhood ladies were starting up Weight Watchers, so I just hopped on for the ride.  I’ve gotta say it was the easiest and best diet ever…it works on numbers and points which for me was perfect.  After a couple months I was down to 190 and feeling great (and looking good too)  I’d dropped from 38-40 pants to 36 and from XL shirts to L and XL.  It was great.

Now as time has passed and I haven’t really kept to the diet maintenance I’ve gradually crept back up to 218.  The only non-negative is that I’m not back in 38-40 pants…for some reason I’m still in most of my 36 stuff.  But, it’s time to get serious again and start dropping.  It just felt so good to watch pounds disappear on a regular basis and to see the before and after differences.

This is in no way an endorsement of the WW plan, but it does work for me when I stick with it.  The only difference this time around will be the absence of bike riding.  Last time I was pedaling every day…which under the WW plan gives you bonus points daily.  I won’t have the bonus points this time and I guess also won’t have the respiratory benefits of daily biking and whatever body toning benefits biking provides.

Anyway, here we go.  We shall see what happens this time around.  Last time the first 2 weeks were the toughest, but once over the hump it was addictive.
