Murphy: Who Wears These Shoes ?
June 3, 2008

10 years ago it was simply frustration – and a silly frustration at that. Now it’s pure comedy, and pretty endearing.
What is the easiest way to find Jodi ? Just follow the shoe trail.
Jodi’s shoe trail is not about sloppiness or disorganization –although I used to think that. It’s really just about COMFORT. Walk in, the day is done ( or task is done), take a breath and exhale. The shoe trail is really nothing more than Jodi exhaling a brief moment of relief. Something that will likely only last 5-10 minutes before the next life chore comes along.
Sometimes it’s the kids, sometimes it’s work, sometimes it’s self induced like exercise – but one thing I know ( and love) about Jodi is that she is a “sprinter”. She only takes a few moments to rest before going on to the next thing. Jodi’s not good at sitting still ( unless she’s sleeping, and even that is only at night).
The picture above is of a hotel room we recently stayed in. Housekeeping cleaned around her shoe and left them as they were – another moment of comedy.
I simply looked at the shoes, counted fours pairs, and realized Jodi had “exhaled” about four times that day before going on to the next thing.
Another thing I love most about her.
